So, today we had NeSA testing.  YAAYYYY!!!!! (sense the sarcasm)  The good thing about today was that we didn't have to be to school until 9:00 A.M. That would have been great except for the fact that I had to be there early because I ride in with my sister who had regular classes today.  Another good thing about testing was that we got out at 11:00 today.  Yesterday, we took two sessions of the math test and one session of the reading; today, we took one session of reading and two sessions of science.  Overall, the tests were fairly easy, although the reading ones took the most time since we had to read multiple passages.  Although I learned a lot throughout the tests, I'm glad they are over so that our classes can go back to normal.

To day started out like any other day, I woke up, and got ready for school. When I got to my first class I had to present my presentation about the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio. Next I had my math class and in there the class worked on IXL's to prepare for the NESA testing in a week. Then finally I had english an in there we worked on complex sentences. Then finally i had had track I worked on High Jump, and for my running workout I had to do six 200 meter dashes and a ten minute mile to finish that up. That was my day.

Daily Blog Post: March 26th 2013

Hola Readers!
Today was an average day at school. This morning I hung out in Mrs. Kelly's room. I talked about my little brother, Braden. The anniversary of his death was yesterday.
Math class was pretty awesome as usual. We took a quiz over the last half of the chapter. In second period, we took a practice quiz (*cough, cough* had social hour *cough, cough*) for NeSA, which is some kind of standardized test. Third period, we did a trial recreation that will be ongoing for a few weeks.  Fourth period: Reading class. We took the OFFICIAL practice test for NeSA.

Fifth period, I have band and choir. Usually, I don't have to practice for honor band, but I made high band in the Pierce honor band.
ENGLISH TIME! We basically worked on some sentence worksheets. We partnered up and wrote some sentences based on the "formulas" given. The formulas (ID; D,I) mean independent clause, subordinating conjunction, dependent clause and (subordinating conjunction) Dependent clause, COMMA, Independent clause.
Seventh period, I have business trends. Right now, we're talking about entrepreneurs and the traits of entrepreneurs. Finally, in track, I worked on jumps, then ran six 200's (*cough, cough* not fun *cough, cough*)

That's my day in a nutshell. Hopefully, you're still reading. MAGICAL UNICORNS!!!!
Okay, just making sure. :)

Today in all classes we had about three people in each class. It was a Junior High t rack meet day and most all of the kids are in track. In most classes we got a study hall, but in English we really did work. In English we did 4A and 4B worksheet on complex sentences. Next, we picked out topics for our persuasive speeches. Then we got to be on the IPads and study for the NESA test.

Today's been a good day. I mean, at least I woke up on time this morning, that's an improvement. For the last week or so all we've done in my classes, including English, is study for our NESA test coming up. It's not like it's boring because we do different things, but it's just not as entertaining as usual. We have the longest list of words and phrases to learn in English, I understand that we need to know them, but my brain is only so big! I believe this time of the year is the most stressful time for not only students, but teachers as well.

This week has gone by quick, and that's a good thing. We didn't have school on Monday due to Spring Break. We didn't have school on Tuesday because of a track meet. Today we had NeSA testing. We got the morning off and then had to go in the afternoon. The math part of the testing was first. After that, we took the first part of the reading test. The math test was pretty basic and easy. We had two sections of that test too. The reading test was easy, but you had to do a lot of reading so it took some more time (not surprised). When we were all done with the testing, we went out to track practice, and then our day was done!

Today is Monday April 25th the day started out with math and we only had 5 IXL's due. Not to bad! Then came science and we did a NESA practice test. In history we had a "court trial" it was make believe though. Reading we had to do two teenbiz's and review for our NESA reading test that is coming up. After that it was study hall and all I did was work on IXL's. Then it was english; in english we worked on a packet and that took all class to finish. Business Trends we didn't have very much at all just a worksheet. Track is after business trends we ran and got a pretty good workout.

Today at OHS we had a lot going on during the day. In 1st period I had Mr. Hesse’s class where we presented our presentations on a topic that we were assigned. Then next period I had Math with Mr. Hilker and Mrs. Schueths. We were assigned two IXL’s to do on Linear functions. Then in the class is reading with Mrs. Troester but she wasn’t here and the had Mrs. Scott as our substitute. In reading we did a NeSA Review for getting us prepared for our testing that is coming up next week. Next, I go to Mr. Corkle’s Class where we also took a NeSA Review test. At fifth period I have study hall where I had to finish my upfront paper for Geography. Everyone’s favorite part of the day is going to lunch. We had chicken sandwiches. After lunch we went to English where we usually have Mrs. Troester we still had Mrs. Scott and Mrs. Morrow was in there helping us with the NeSA Review that we have been doing in almost every class today. Then in Career Guidance with Mrs. Schueths she brought us root-beer floats because we had gotten all of our points for good behavior. Finally our last subject is P.E. but I’m in track and all we work on is our field events and then we condition. When you are at OHS there is many things to do, but at the end of the day you are glad that the day is over and ready to start another day.

Today is another dreadful Monday, but we have to stay awake because today in English we have to pick our topics for our persuasive essays. I have a couple ideas in mind, but I need to pick one today. We went to the library where Mrs. Crumbly helped us get our topics narrowed down.

Also, there is supposed to be a storm heading our way, so everyone's fingers are crossed for a snow day.
